STOP the Most Annoying Question EVER: “What do I do now?”

adobe-spark

All year long we are getting that question “What do I do when I’m done?”

I’m here to help you eliminate hearing that question.

There’s some really comprehensive stuff out there, like the “Early Finisher Task Cards”
and “Mastery Club”, but this is a super simple easy management technique. It’s nothing that you’re going to have to grade or come up with extra printables for or anything like that, it’s just simple.

These ” What Can I Do When I’m Done Cards” answer the question for them. The best part is they’re editable so you can change them fit your classroom and your student’s needs.

I just post the question up on the board “What Can I Do When I’m Done?” Then I pick
through the choices that I want them to have for that time of day and when kids finish their work they refer to the cards. It becomes a classroom procedure and I never hear that dreaded question again.

The cards have pictures to fit everything you would need in your classroom. Leave the wording the same or quickly edit and print. After printing, I attach a magnet to the back so that I can use them on my whiteboard.

I’ve also seen teachers attach them to a ribbon, but I would recommend a magnet or a pocket chart so that your choices stay flexible and you can change them throughout the day.

These cards saved my sanity so I want to give you a chance to win them before you buy them. I am going to choose two teachers to win a set of cards and a pocket chart to go along with them! (Check out the video to see how they fit in a pocket chart). All you have to do is leave a comment with one thing you have kids do when they finish their
work early. Chances are we will create a good list of ideas and there will be several new ones we wouldn’t have thought of. We’re better together!

That’s it. Just leave a comment on this post or my Facebook video and before the end of the week I will draw two names to win!

Robin, I love using task cards too! I have a card specifically for task cards when we have more than just a few minutes for kids to work on something.
